2017 Year in Review: Juggle’s Top Ten

January 2017, Juggle is the first babysitting app to feature a sitter of the week. This is huge because it showcases to families the caliber of sitters joining our platform. They are educated, energetic and experienced, each one is interviewed and mom-approved. You won’t find better sitters!

March 2, 2017 Juggle launched it’s second market, Cincinnati, with the help of our first “Mom BOSS”, Mandy Hauer. A friend since college, she was so excited about our app and its’ possibilities for her hometown, that she was willing to take on the job of recruiting area sitters and marketing to local families. She’s been KILLING it ever since, and was the catalyst to hiring more moms in more markets. #momswithhustle

Juggle participates in its first Columbus Startup Week in May 2017!  CEO, Annie Arthur, spoke on a panel about the unique challenges of being women in tech and how to gain access to capital. Did you know that women-led companies made up just 4.94% of all VC deals in 2016—the highest percentage in the past decade.  Being taken seriously in an industry dominated by men has been an uphill battle, but we’re forging on, full steam ahead.  After all, we are some of Juggle’s best customers.  We know what families want, what moms want, for their children.  Which is why Momcast, a Columbus podcast about moms and parenting, came out to interview Co-founder and Chief Recruiting Officer, Amber Nolan, to talk about why Juggle is a mom’s best friend.

Juggle is about becoming a part of the communities we serve that goes beyond providing families with the best sitters available. We love opportunities to collaborate with other women-owned businesses and to be able to lend our support to causes we hold dear. In 2017, we were honored to participate in Cincinnati’s Polo for Babies, a polo match hosted by the Leonidas Foundation to benefit Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in addition to the Jack Roth Rock ‘N Run which provides for the Jack Roth Fund, created to promote vital research and treatment necessary to combat lung cancer, through the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital. Juggle also created its own “Book to Benefit” event, where proceeds from every sit booked on Cancer Survivors Day went to Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, where the nephew of co-founders Emily Music & Annie Arthur, is receiving treatment for ALL. We will continue our commitment to these and other causes in 2018.

August 2017, Juggle experienced a very important “first” in hiring our first full-time employee, Jeremy Tong.  Jeremy is tech support, app designer and coder all in one.  He fits like a glove and is helping to get our tech talk on track.  He’s helped us launch important updates and made vast improvements to the functionality of our app since he came aboard.  We are excited about what is on the horizon for Juggle in 2018 with him at the tech helm.

We call them Juggle’s Sensational Six (including Cincinnati’s Marvelous Mandy), and we couldn’t be growing without each and every mom-bosses commitment to our brand and our mission. These ladies are making things happen in our fastest-growing markets: Nashville, Charleston, S.C., Raleigh, Detroit & Phoenix. More markets will see Juggle coming to their rescue in 2018, and we can’t wait to add more #momswithhustle to our team!!

In October, Juggle took part in Innovate and Celebrate, a pitch competition held in San Francisco involving TechCo’s top 100 Startups in the world. While we didn’t take home the top prize, we felt as if we’d won just having the opportunity to participate. We connected with amazing people creating products and services to make the world a better place and our lives easier. It was a special honor being among the twenty-five women-led startups in attendance.

October was a busy month!!  We also launched our long-awaited post-a-job feature.  Juggle is committed to iterating on the valuable feedback we receive from our users.  Being able to submit a request and have it go out to ALL available sitters at once has seriously cut down on wait time, and when you’re in a pinch and need someone quickly, this feature makes it easy.  We predict this will become the default way to hire sitters, it’s the way we use the app to find our own sitters!

Juggle’s enjoyed some good press in 2017!  CEO, Annie Arthur, was included in Columbus Underground’s Women Leading Tech piece; Columbus Parent featured Juggle as a parent/sitter matchmaker; 10TV did a spot on the way Juggle has made parents’ lives easier; and Cincy Chic shined a spotlight on our app shortly after launch there.  Juggle also appeared in the pages of Columbus CEO, Columbus Business First and was named one of the Columbus Startups to Watch by TechCo.  Juggle is #trending…

Juggle’s mission is to help busy families live their best lives.  We’ve done that by narrowing the field of sitters to the cream of the crop.  Sitters who’ve taught dance to autistic students; who’ve been lifeguards, nannies and camp counselors; future teachers and child counselors.  We’ve interviewed them, and we recently added background checks.  Look for the green badge next to a sitter’s name in your search, and next to their picture in sitter profiles.  It’s just one more way Juggle is providing peace of mind for parents.

Year end is an opportunity to look back and forward at the same time.  To take stock of successes and failures in order to set goals to increase the former and find ways to prevent the latter.  We knew it wouldn’t be easy when we set out on this journey, but with an eye on having fun (with the help of coffee and cocktails) while taking the ride, we’ve stayed true to our mission and remain committed to making Juggle the go-to babysitting app in each community in which we launch.  Thanks for trusting our platform, we promise to expand Juggle to more markets and to keep on improving in 2018.  Cheers and Happy New Year to all!
